[00:08.18]Lesson32
[00:14.51]Exercise 1.4
[00:18.01]Welcome back to the show.
[00:20.43]Today we're talking about safety--
[00:23.69]especially safety for teenagers.
[00:26.93]Robin Thomas is here to give us some tips.
[00:30.45]So,Robin,what is the most important thing
[00:33.71]to remember?
[00:36.06]Well,as a basic rule,
[00:38.52]when you go out,
[00:40.36]always tell your parents where you are going,
[00:43.17]and who you are going with,
[00:45.24]and --this is very important --
[00:47.61]what time you expect to be home.
[00:50.96]When teenagers go out ,
[00:52.95]they usually take some money with them.
[00:55.79]What can they do to keep safe?
[00:59.04]First,it's not a good idea to carry a lot of
[01:02.15]money with you.
[01:04.09]Also,you shouldn't carry an expensive
[01:07.08]handbag or purse
[01:08.50]because this just attracts attention.
[01:11.44]If you have to carry some money with you,
[01:13.93]keep it in different places.
[01:16.60]What do you mean?
[01:18.76]Well,for example,
[01:20.66]you can keep some money in your pocket
[01:23.03]and some in your sock or in your shoe.
[01:26.24]And another thing,it's better to keep your
[01:29.53]money out of sight until you need to use it.
[01:33.52]Okay. What else should teenagers remember?
[01:38.06]When you're out walking,
[01:39.65]it's not a good idea to take short--cuts across
[01:43.17]dark areas,empty buildings,or parking lots.
[01:47.92]Stay on the main street.
