Hey there, I'm Virginia Cha at the cnn center in Atlanta. Here's a look at what's happening NOW IN THE NEWS.

A car bombing in the Iraqi City of Kufa has killed at least 16 people. At least 70 more were wounded after the explosion in a crowded area, food stores and restaurants catering to pilgrims. Not far from a revered Shiite mosque. Farther north, an attacker wearing an explosive belt, detonated himself in a police station killing 5 and wounding 15.

Six men accused of plotting to kill soldiers at Ft.Dix Army Base in New Jersey will be in court to face charges this afternoon. Federal agents arrested the suspects overnight. The US Attorney's office says 4 of the men in custody are from the former Yugoslavia, one suspect is from Turkey, one is from Jordan. The New York started alleged reports that they allegedly tried to buy AK-47s from an FBI informant.

A SWAT team is surrounding an apartment near the campus of Fresno State after a deadly shooting. They try to convince the suspect to give himself up. Officials say negotiators are now talking to 19-year-old Jonquel Brooks over the phone. Brooks is accused of killing a former Fresno state student and wounding 2 others last night. He's been hold up in the apartment since the shooting.

Forecasters are keeping a close eye on a very unusual storm. Take a look at that. Spinning off the North Carolina coast, it has the same characteristics of a tropical system. But it didn't form in the tropics. Right now the storm is heading for southern Georgia or north Florida and could make landfall sometime tomorrow. Coastal counties in Florida could get pounded by up to 40-mile an hour winds.

An Israeli archaeologist says he has found the remnants of the tomb of King Herod. Professor Ehud Netzer has been searching for the burial site of the Bible's master builder for most of his life. And now he says he's found it in Herodium, a palace fortress Herod built in the desert outside Jerusalem.
