Hi, there. I'm Virginia Cha at the cnn center in Atlanta. Here's a look at what's happening NOW IN THE NEWS.

A powerful explosion rocked a commercial neighborhood in Turkey's capital city of Ankara. Ankara's mayor says at least four people have been killed. The blast happened near bus stops, outside one of the oldest shopping malls in the city. Police say they do believe a bomb may have caused that explosion. And the force of the blast shattered windows of the mall and buildings nearby. And at least 50 injured bystanders were taken to local hospitals.

Now we go to Lebanon where fighting between the army and Palestinian militants continues for a third day. During a load in the fighting a UN aid truck, actually multiple trucks, entered a refugee camp at the center of the violence but they too were hit by gunfire. UN officials say their trucks were carrying food, medicine and water. They entered the camp after the militant group Fatah al-Islam declared a unilateral ceasefire. But it's not clear who fired at that convoy.

A popular outdoor market in Baghdad has become a scene of carnage. At least 25 people were killed in a car bombing in the bustling mainly Shiite Amil commercial district. And in the Sadr City section of Baghdad 5 college students were shot after gunmen flagged down their minibus as it was returning from classes.

Checking the cnn gas gauge at this hour. $3.21 is the new national average according to triple A. That's up a penny from the old record which is just set yesterday. A month ago, gas average $ 2.86 . A year ago, the average was $2.89.

Warnings today for the millions of people taking the diabetes drug Avandia. A new study says users of the drug face an increased risk of heart attack and even death. The study in the New England Journal of Medicine found patients taking the drug were 43% more likely to have heart attacks and 64% more likely to die from heart disease. Glaxo Smith Kline,the drug's maker , disagrees with the study, saying it is, quote, "based on incomplete evidence and methodology".
