Hey, there. I'm Joshua Levs at the cnn center in Atlanta. Here is a look at what's happening Now In The News.

Thousands of US and Iraqi troops are trying to secure Iraq's volatile Diyala Province, north of Baghdad. Operation Arrowhead Ripper is entering its fifth day in one of the most dangerous areas in Iraq. An Iraqi commander says US and Iraqi troops captured two senior al-Qaeda militants and 7 other suspected insurgents in raids today. The US military says dozens of al-Qaeda fighters have been killed since that operation began on Monday.

Religious students at Islamabad's Red Mosque have released nine captives they seized early Saturday. The students have raided a business they said was a front for prostitution. A cleric says the captives were released after police promised the students they would work to eliminate massage parlours that allow both men and women.

Four people suspected of kidnapping and branding a woman are due back in court next week. An Arizona woman helped police in a domestic violence case. Investigators say the four suspects retaliated by branding the word "snitch" on the woman's face. The 38-year-old victim says she was attacked while visiting an acquaintance at a Mesa Apartment ten days ago. Now police say the suspects cut off the woman's hair, then burnt her face with a branding iron.

Kentucky State inspectors are in the middle of their investigation of what caused an accident that left a 13-year-old girl seriously injured. Her feet were severed while she was on the Superman Tower of Power ride at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville on Thursday. A total of 8 rides just like that one across the country have now been closed. The rides lift people straight up a tall tower and then quickly drop them down again.

All right, and finally here, if you are drinking bottled water as you watch this, municipal workers in San Francisco just might be a little jealous of you. Mayor Gavin Newsom has now banned city departments from buying any bottled water, and that goes for those big water coolers as well. The move is meant to save tax payer money and to help the environment. The Mayor's office points out that about a billion plastic bottles ends up in the state's landfills every year. So the ban will take effect on July 1st.

And those are the headlines this hour, for more on these stories and of course other news of the day, cnn is your source online, on TV or when you're on the go.
