America's NO. 2 commander in Iraq is clarifying his remarks about moving back the deadline for assessing the troop buildup. The assessment of the strategy is due in September, but yesterday General Ray Odierno says he needs until at least November to see if it's working. Well now he says he did not mean to suggest that the September benchmark should be moved.
Pakistan's president has been overruled by the Supreme Court. People are celebrating in Islamabad today after justices reinstated the country's top judge. The court ruled his suspension by President Pervez Musharraf was illegal. The Chief Justice had been showing independence in his handling of cases involving the disappearance of terrorist suspects and human rights activists. General Masharf accused the Chief Justice of misusing his powers.
Authorities have charged a third doctor in connection with those failed bombings in London and Scotland. Scotland Yard says Mahammed Asha was charged yesterday with conspiracy to cause explosions. Meanwhile, British police have arrested two more suspects on terror charges. They found a substance in an apartment in Bristol that led them to believe there may be a potential link there to terrorist activity.
Northern California, a little shaken up today after a 4.2 magnitude earthquake hit the San Francisco Bay area before dawn. It's classified as light by the US geological survey. That means minimal damage, but enough to awaken people from their sleep. There were some power outages, but no reports of injuries or significant damage.
Clean-up crews at the Manhattan steam pipe explosion site likely will wear protective masks, as they get back to work today. Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the city will run more test to make sure no one was exposed to asbestos in Wednesday’s blast. Bloomberg says asbestos was found in 14 out of about 56 pieces of debris tested but most of the contaminated pieces had only trace amounts of asbestos.

"Deathly Hallows" is the seventh and final installment in the series that began a decade ago with "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone".
