Hello, from the cnn center here in Atlanta, I'm Melissa Long with a look at what's happening NOW IN THE NEWS. We have some new images to share with you.

The grueling rescue operation inside a Utah mine where 6 miners have been trapped for more than a week. At a news conference, a few minutes ago actually, mine officials released various videos to explain what rescue teams are doing to find the trapped miners. You can see them using their hands, heavy machinery to dig through rubble in the main tunnel. The co-owner of the mine says crews have also drilled a new hole toward the back of the mine. That's where officials hoped the men sought refuge in an air pocket.

The US Product Safety Watchdog Group announced Mattel is voluntarily recalling a number of Chinese-made toys. Among them, some famous names including Barbie and her dog Tanner. Some toys have been pulled for containing lead paint; others have small magnets that children might swallow.

NFL quarterback Michael Vick might be considering a plea deal for his alleged role in a dogfighting operation. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that Vick and his attorneys have entered into negotiations to make a plea deal before Friday deadline set by federal prosecutors. This comes as two more co-defendants are expected to enter plea agreements this week. Another co-defendant Tony Taylor pleaded guilty to his role in the dogfighting operation.

Don Imus could be heading back to the radio. Imus has reached a settlement over his multi-million-dollar contract with CBS and his negotiating get back on the air with WABC radio, New York City. He was fired earlier in the year amid protests over racist and sexist comments he made about the Rutgers University Women's Basketball Team. Imus sued CBS for 120 million dollars over unpaid wages and damages. Terms of that settlement have not been released and it's not known just when he might return to the radio waves.
