A good afternoon to you, I'm Cory Kessler at the cnn.com Newsroom in Atlanta. Here is what's happening NOW IN THE NEWS.

Ferocious wildfires in Greece have reached the ancient city of Olympia. A Fire Department official said the city was in danger but none of its historical sites has been destroyed. The fires have been raging for three days now and fire officials say the death toll is at least fifty-one. Two people are under arrest in connection with those fires.

The African Union envoy to Darfur is meeting rebel and tribal leaders in Sudan. Salim Ahmed Salim is urging all parties to commit to a ceasefire to end the four-and-a-half-year conflict. Only one of the three negotiating rebel factions signed a Darfur Peace Deal last year. Peace talks are due to begin in Oct.

Floodwaters are still causing problems in parts of the Midwest. In Ocsomwa, Iowa, clean-up is underway but city residents still must boil their water. Flooding across the Midwest is now blamed for at least 18 deaths.

And in Ohio, thunderstorm swept across parts of the state, blowing down trees and knocking out power to hundreds of thousands of people.

Presidential hopeful Barack Obama toured New Orleans today. The Democratic presidential candidate says problems in New Orleans began long before Hurricane Katrina. In a speech at a Baptist Church, he said the foundation that America is based on was failing the city long before the storm. Obama also said the two billion dollars a week being spent on the war in Iraq could be better used for rebuilding the country's foundation.

The brand new multimillionaire out there. Problem is a single winning ticket was sold for the 314-million-dollar power ball jackpot. But there is no word yet on who the lucky winner is. Lottery officials say the ticket's owner hasn't come forward yet and has six months to do so. Lottery ticket was bought at a gas station in Indiana.

Well, those are the headlines this hour. For more on these stories and other news of the day, you know where to turn. cnn online, on TV or when you are on the go. I'm Cory Kessler. Thanks for watching.
