A sex sting operation ends the senator career of Idaho Republican Larry Craig. He announced just a short time ago that he will resign at the end of the month. Craig has been under fire from members of his own party after his arrest during a sex sting in a men's room at the Minneapolis Airport. Craig pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct charges but he maintained he did nothing wrong.
Tropical Storm Felix has become the 6th named storm of this year's Atlantic hurricane season. Currently Felix is churning to the eastern Caribbean and forecasters say the storm is expected to strengthen. On its current track the storm will pass near the islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao late tonight or early tomorrow morning. At its current pace, forecasters are predicting Felix could become a hurricane early tomorrow.
Former Durham North Carolina District Attorney Mike Nifong is going to jail for 1 day. He was sentenced for withholding DNA evidence from defence lawyers during the Duke lacrosse case. Nifong has already been disbarred. You may remember the lacrosse players were initially accused of raping an exotic dancer at a party last year. All were cleared of the charges.
In a very brief historic moment for Iowa, this couple became the state's first and only same-sex pair to legally marry. That's because a judge overturned the same-sex marriage ban but after only 2 hours, he issued a state on his order and turned it over to Iowa Supreme Court for appeal.
Kroger is recalling 2 of its store brands of potato salad over concerns they are tainted with the E.coli bacteria. The brands in question are the "Southern Style" and "Mustard" and they have the "best if used by date of September 5th". Health Officials say no one has gotten sick from the tainted potato salad.
