Authorities say one of the two girls found inside a mine shaft in Mohave County, Arizona is dead. The two girls' ages: ten and thirteen, disappeared yesterday while out riding on an ATV.
The Atlantic season's second hurricane is churning near some popular vacation spots in the Caribbean. After lashing Guajira, Felix is now northeast of Aruba. Forecasters say it could grow into a major hurricane in the next 24 hours.
For the first time ever, North Korea offers a timeline to end its secretive atomic energy program. Washington's chief negotiator says Pyongyang has agreed to declare and disable its nuclear facilities by the end of this year.
Security is tight in Sydney, Australia. The city is preparing to host many of the world's leaders and hundreds of protestors. Members of the 21-nation Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meet in Sydney this week. Fences are up at key points to help protect them. Environmental activists launched a protest today that led to several arrests. President Bush is due to arrive Tuesday in Sydney.
Florida may take serious consequences for holding their primary election in January. Hilary Cliton, Barack Obama and John Edwards are now vowing to avoid campaigning there if the day is not pushed back. The DNC demands Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina be the first to vote on February 5th. They've asked presidential candidates to stay away from states, not following the rules.
The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge remains closed this weekend. Officials say workers will be repairing a section of the bridge damaged in the 1989 earthquake. So far there've been no major traffic problems but minor delays are being reported on some of the other bridges. The bridge is scheduled to reopen in time for the Tuesday morning commute.
