Hello. I’m Melissa Long here at the cnn center in Atlanta with a look at what’s happening NOW IN THE NEWS on this Friday.

Could there be some new video from Osama bin Laden? A US official says the government is analyzing a video that appears to have Osama bin Laden on it. The source tells cnn they are trying to determine whether it is really bin Laden and if the video is old or new. Bin Laden’s last video appearance was days before the 2004 presidential election. The new video was announced by a banner ad on Islamist websites.

A family spokesperson says the mother of the missing British girl Madeleine McCann is now a formal suspect to her daughter’s disappearance. The girl went missing while on vacation in Portugal four months ago. The spokeswoman also says police found traces of Madeleine’s blood in a car rented by the family 25 days after she vanished.

A 76-year-old woman missing in the Oregon wilderness for almost two weeks has been found alive. Authorities found her yesterday. Ora Doris Anderson and her husband were on a hunting trip when their car got stuck. Her husband left to try to get help and was found by other hunters. Doctors tell police she is in surprisingly good shape considering her ordeal.

The former district attorney from the Duke lacrosse rape case is in North Carolina in a jail right now, starting his 24-hour sentence. Mike Nifong arrived this morning. Last week a judge found Nifong in contempt for lying about DNA evidence in the case that the judge says would have potentially cleared the accused players. A source says the players want legal reforms and a 30-million-dollar settlement in the city of Durham, North Carolina. If the former players don’t get it, they plan to sue.

Architects in New York City have unveiled new drawings of the World Trade Center Memorial. They say three office towers will surround the memorial and a pavilion will lead to an underground September 11th museum. The new drawings focus heavily on how people can walk around and experience the memorial. Opening dates for the projects range from 2009 to 2013.
