From the cnn center in Atlanta, I'm Reggie Aqui, here are some of the headlines NOW IN THE NEWS.

Another day of violence in Myanmar as the military moves to break up demonstrations. The crowds have been smaller today, but that has not stopped the bloodshed. One witness tells sources he saw some 35 bodies lined up in the streets of Rangoon. There are also reports of troops firing warning shots and hitting people with clubs.

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has been given the go-ahead to run for another 5-year term in office. Pakistan's High Court dismissed petitions challenging General Musharraf's reelection bid. Critics say General Musharraf should not be allowed to run for president unless he gives up his position as army chief. The general has said that he would give up his uniform if he wins a new term.

Jury selection is now underway in London for the inquest into Princess Diana's death. The inquest was delayed until French legal proceedings were complete. Now the case is scheduled to begin next week and is expected to last about six months.

Mychal Bell, the African American teen tried as an adult in the "Jena 6" case is free this morning. He was released from a Louisiana jail yesterday. The DA has dropped an effort to try him as an adult. The case involving Bell and five teens accused of beating a white classmate sparked a massive civil rights protest last week. Bell still faces charges in juvenile court.

Work for a showdown between Congress and the president soon, the Senate voted overwhelmingly last night to expand a health care program kit. The president says he will veto the bill because it will cost more than double what he wanted. The Senate passed the bill with a veto proof margin. But the House is still about two dozen votes short.
