Amnesty International says 4 prominent dissidents have been arrested in Myanmar. The group says the individuals are at graver risk for torture. Monks started to protest in Myanmar last month, but the military quickly cracked down. Today the junta brought in 120, 000 people for a pro-government rally in the capital. Locals say they were rounded up and some were given about 80 cents to take part.

The White House is shrugging off new criticism of the war in Iraq from a top military commander. Retired Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez says politicians' lust for power is costing American lives on the battlefield and that the war is a nightmare with no end in sight.

California's gay marriage ban stands. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed legislation that would have allowed homosexual couples to marry. It's the second gay marriage bill he has vetoed. Schwarzenegger says he supports state laws on domestic partnerships but he wants the courts to have the final say on the gay marriage issue. California voters approved the gay marriage ban in 2000 and an appeal to that ban is expected to be decided by the State Supreme Court sometime next year.

This weekend there are calls of racial injustice in Tallahassee, Florida. Friday, these protestors took to the streets after 7 boot camp guards and a nurse were acquitted in the death of a 14-year-old African-American boy. White jury took 90 minutes to return a not-guilty verdict in the manslaughter trial. The US Justice Department is now reviewing the case for possible civil rights violations.

And archeologists are showing off a spectacular find from the waters of the Florida Panhandle. Teams of students from the University of West Florida discovered a Spanish sailing vessel at the bottom of the Pensacola Bay last summer. Now researchers are taking a closer look at the 1559 shipwreck and unlocking secrets to Florida's past. The Spanish colony near present day Pensacola was abandoned in 1561 and no trace of it has been found on land.
