. . . in the Capitol Rotunda.

A security guard shot and killed a suspected bank robber in the Atlanta area today. But a second suspect is still on the loose. Police say a customer alerted bank employees of suspicious activity at a bank of America Branch. Gunfire erupted when the men were confronted by security. No one else inside the bank was hurt. Police say they believe the other man drove off in a smoke-gray jeep cherokee.

The trial of accused Atlanta courthouse shooter Brian Nichols is now on hold indefinitely. The judge suspended the trial this morning after Nichols's lawyer complained about not getting paid. The Public Defender's Office has spent 1. 8 million dollars on this case so far. Nichols is accused of killing four people including a judge and a sheriff's deputy back in March, 2005.

Georgia's governor is demanding a response today on decreasing the amount of water released from a major reservoir. You see Georgia is in the grips of an extreme drought. The Army Corps of Engineers meanwhile releases water from Lake Lanier to protect threaten mussels and sturgeon downstream in Florida. The state's congressional delegation wants the Corps to turn off the tap. Water levels at Lake Lanier are down drastically. Other states though are blaming metro Atlanta's booming growth for the current water crisis.

The social networking site Facebook has agreed to do more to protect kids from predators and sexual content. In a settlement with New York's Attorney General, Facebook agreed to respond more quickly to reports of sexual messages, also it plans to post sterner warnings aimed at parents. Prosecutors had accused Facebook of falsely advertising itself as a safe online environment.
