Hi there, I'm Virginia Cha at the cnn center in Atlanta. Here's a look at what's happening NOW IN THE NEWS.

The mid-west and parts of the south are cleaning up the damage left by several tornados. The twisters were part of lineup severe weather that is now approaching the northeast. The destruction extends from Missouri, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky to as far south as Mississippi and Florida. So far 6 people are confirmed dead as a result of the storm system.

Oil prices hit a new high in Friday, trading passing the 90-dollar-a-barrel mark for the first time. Analysts say one of the reasons spurring demand for crude is the exceptionally weak dollar. Many investors are switching to oil to hedge their bets. There're also concerns that oil stocks will remain tight over the winter.

Two US military officials say 4 Airforce officers have been relieved of duty in connection with a mistaken flight of nuclear warheads. Flight crew members were not aware that their B-52 like this one carried missiles armed with nuclear warheads. The Air Force will now consider whether criminal charges are warranted.

Pakistani authorities are offering about 83 thousand dollars reward for information into yesterday's deadly suicide bombing in Karachi. 136 people died in that incident. The bombing happened near a motorcade carrying former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. Bhutto was not hurt, she has condemned yesterday's attack. She did that this morning but said the incident would not keep her from campaigning for her old post. Bhutto returned to Pakistan yesterday after spending 8 years in self-exile.

British singer Amy Winehouse was released from a Norway jail this morning after being arrested for marijuana possession. Her husband and a third person also arrested, all three spent the night in custody. They were released after paying a fine and police say they consider this case to be closed.
