I am Asieh Namdar at the cnn. com newsroom in Atlanta. Here's a look at what's happening NOW IN THE NEWS.

In eastern New Orleans, a portion of Interstate 10 could be shut down into the early evening hours after (an) early morning truck accident. Police say the driver of a truck carrying 250 acetylene cylinders fell asleep. The truck flipped over and several of the cannisters exploded. Acetylene is a highly flammable gas used in blow torches. Several of the cannisters are still scattered across to high way, some are still burning. The driver is being treated for minor injuries and fortunately no one else is hurt.

The White House says it's working on ways to address Georgia's water shortage and modifying rules that required the state's water to be sent downstream to sustain protected species. Governor Sonny Perdue asked for the Federal Government's help today and declared a state of emergency in more than 80 counties. The Army Corps of Engineers estimates there is only a 3-month supply of water left in Lake Lanier, the main water source for metro Atlanta.

The Associated Press is reporting that Pakistani police are questioning three men about Thursday's bomb attack on Banezir Bhutto's convoy. The suicide attack happened as the former Prime Minister was returning to Pakistan after eight years of self-imposed exile. 136 people died in the blast but Bhutto was not hurt. Police are examining a severed head they say might be the suicide bomber's. They hope to release a sketch in the hope of someone can identify him.

Iraq's Parliament will meet again Sunday to work on a resolution regarding the country's border issues with Turkey. The lawmakers failed to pass a resolution today. They're responding to a measure passed in Turkey's Parliament that would allow Turkey's military to cross the Iraqi border to fight Kurdish rebels. The Bush Administration does not like the idea even though Turkish Prime Minister says there will necessarily not be immediate action.

And lights-out in San Francisco tonight at 8 o'clock local time for one hour, city officials will shut the lights off at landmarks all over the city including the Golden Gate Bridge. It's part of a campaign to conserve energy. Street lights will stay on to keep traffic moving safely.

And those are the headlines this hour. For more on these stories and other news of the day, cnn is your source online, on TV or when you are on the go.
