Some optimism in California as firefighters battle the blaze raging near Malibu. The 4600-acre wildfire is now 40 percent contained. Fire officials predict if they will have it fully contained by Tuesday. The fire has destroyed about 50 homes. At least 10 thousand people were evacuated.
Strong earthquakes hit Indonesia today but there are no media reports of injuries. The strongest quake estimated at 6.7 struck 800 miles east of the capital Jakarta. Officials say there is a very small possibility of tsunami.
Thousands of protestors clashed with police in Malaysia today. Ethnic Indians say the Muslim-led government discriminates against Hindus. Police used tear gas and water cannons to break up the protest, which continued for more than eight hours.
Two deadly blasts in Baghdad today. This video was of a car bomb that exploded near the Health Ministry. Nine people were killed. The second blast, a roadside bomb killed one civilian in the northern part of the capital.
Israel's Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is in Washington for this week's Mid-east peace summit. Olmert says he hopes the meeting will launch talks that lead to a solution of two states for two peoples.
And Disney's latest "Enchanted" charmed enough moviegoers over the five-day holiday weekend to earn more than 50 million dollars. That's according to Studio Estimates. Amy Adams stars in the film as a Disney fairy tale princess who finds herself transported to real life New York."Enchanted" had the second highest Thanksgiving weekend take of all time.
