[14:58.30]and then the girl would have to pick out one of these stones
[15:03.68]If she picked out the black stone she would become his wife
[15:09.30]and her father's debt would he canceled
[15:13.48]If she picked out the white stone
[15:17.16]she could stay with her father and the debt would still he canceled
[15:23.06]But if she refused to pick out a stone,
[15:28.05]her father would be thrown into jail
[15:32.26]Reluctantly the blacksmith agreed.
[15:36.75]They were standing on a stony path as they talked
[15:41.64]The businessman bent down to pick up two stones
[15:46.83]and put them into his bag.
[15:50.44]As he picked up the stones the girl noticed
[15:55.25]that he picked up two black stones
[15:59.74]Then he asked the girl to pick out the stone
[16:05.04]that was to decide her fate and the fate of her father
[16:10.84]What would you do if you were the girl?
[16:15.23]Well,the girl was very clever.
[16:19.54]She took a stone out of the bag
[16:23.64]and immediately dropped it on the stony path
[16:28.34]without looking at it and without letting anyone see it

[17:14.08]For many people today,reading is not only relaxation
[17:20.09]To keep up with their work they must read letters

[17:38.27]the ability to read and comprehend quickly
[17:42.95]can mean the difference between success and failure
[17:48.25]But the fact is that most of us are poor readers.
[17:52.95]Fortunately,almost anyone can learn to read faster
[17:58.36]and with greater comprehension.
[18:02.25]Here are some suggestions on how to deal
[18:06.75]with some bad reading habits.
[18:10.53]If you mouth each word as you read,
[18:14.43]this slows you down to a snail's pace.
[18:18.74]The best way to correct this problem
[18:22.73]is to place a finger on your lips and hold them firmly shut
[18:28.92]until you've broken the habit.
[18:32.42]If your head swings as your eyes move along a line
[18:37.23]lock your head between your hands as you read
[18:42.04]If you follow print with your finger,
[18:46.03]grip the reading material firmly with both hands
