This is NEWS Plus Special English. I'm Mark Griffiths in Beijing. Here is the news.
The Chinese public has hailed President Xi Jinping after a man-of-the-people appearance at a Beijing eatery recently.
People have been flocking to Qing Feng Steamed Stuffed Bun Restaurant in Xicheng District in downtown all day, many of them waiting up to an hour just to be at this restaurant.
President Xi engaged in a break with security protocol when he popped into Qing Feng, queued up and ordered buns stuffed with pork and onions, green vegetables, and a traditional Beijing soup.
Such visits are rare for top Chinese leaders, who are usually surrounded by heavy security and are not known for mingling with the public other than at scheduled events.
The news spread far and wide in China as it is highly unusual for a top leader.
The restaurant has welcomed long lines of people for the past week, some posing for photos, and others wanting to order the same as the president did.
Sun Zheng-cai, a 33-year-old ex-soldier from Northeast China has traveled to Beijing to have a look after hearing about the president's visit online.
Sun, who was on a business trip in eastern China's Shandong Province, arrives in the restaurant at about noon. He queued in a line more than 50 meters long.
After waiting for about half an hour, Sun got his "presidential set meal", -- buns, soup and vegetables.
Holding his food, Sun had to queue in another line for a chance to sit at the table where the president sat.
But he soon realized it's almost impossible to have that seat because of the large crowd around waiting and taking pictures.
Sun sat at another table. He took out his mobile phone and asked another customer to take a picture of him with the food. Then he uploaded the picture onto WeChat, a mobile social networking app.
After finishing all this, Sun starts to eat his lunch. He usually doesn't eat steamed stuffed buns, but today he finished all of them. He said: "just as President Xi did."
Sun said it's been a great honor to eat in the restaurant. He said President Xi is a man of the people, who has made him feel more confident about the future.

Another customer, 27-year-old Pan Xin-xin, is a master's degree student at the Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing. She visits the restaurant because it's a place she can experience firsthand".
Pan says President Xi has a new leadership style which is open-minded, and being in touch with regular people. And he is very popular among the young people.
According to Baidu.com, the largest search engine in China, the term "Qing Feng Steamed Stuffed Bun Restaurant" were searched by more than 33,000 people the day after President Xi's visit.
More than 70 percent of the search requests were from men, and "How to open a Qing Feng Steamed Stuffed Bun Restaurant" was the most searched question on baidu's question-and-answer service.
Though a socialist country in name, China has a deep-rooted hierarchal system that accords privileges to one's official ranking.
In recent years, members of the Chinese public have applauded western leaders for their regular-person style to vent their disapproval of Chinese officials' aloofness.
