娱乐英语新闻:Roman Polanski has another sexual abuse victim: Charlotte Lewis
LOS ANGELES, May 14 (Xinhua) -- British actress Charlotte Lewis claimed in Los Angeles on Friday that she was another victim of Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski who assaulted her in Paris some 28 years ago, adding the latest twist to the legal wrangling between the fugitive and the U.S.government,the Los Angeles Times reported.
During a news conference with her Los Angeles attorney Gloria Allred, Lewis, 42, claimed that Polanski sexually abused her at his Paris apartment "in the worst possible way" in 1982 when she was 16 years old prior to the two working together on Polanski's adventure-comedy film "Pirates."
"I am also a victim of Roman Polanski," she said. "He sexually abused me in the worst possible way when I was just 16 years old, four years after he fled the United States to avoid sentencing for his crime."
Director Roman Polanski is pictured during a news conference to present his musical "Tanz der Vampire" ("Dance of the Vampires") in Oberhausen, Germany in this September 29, 2008 file photo. A Los Angeles judge on Thursday officially rejected Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski's request to dismiss a three-decade-old sex case against him.
Speaking at Allred's office, Lewis said the 76-year-old fugitive director knew she was only 16 years old when he forced himself on her in his apartment in P aris.
"He took advantage of me and I have lived with the effects of his behavior ever since it occurred," she said. "All I want is justice."
The British actress, who made her film debut in the 1986 film as a niece of the governor of a Spanish colony, traveled to the United States "to make sure that justice is finally done and that Mr. Polanski gets what he deserves," she said.
However, she would not say whether she will pursue a civil case against the Polish French film director.
