娱乐英语新闻:Rosie O'Donnell has new girlfriend while returning to "The Rosie Show"

BEIJING, Oct. 11 (Xinhuanet) -- Rosie O'Donnell has a new girlfriend as she returns to television with her new nightly talk show, "The Rosie Show," which premiered Monday night on Oprah Winfrey network.

Rosie O'Donnell was attracted to her new friend Michelle Rounds the moment she saw her in a Starbucks this summer.

"I think if I had known that she was gay, I wouldn't have been brave enough to talk to her," O'Donnell tells the media of her falling for I.T. headhunter Rounds, 40, whom she began dating a few months ago.

Nearly a decade after she left her successful daily daytime show to take care of her children, it seems a good fit for O’Donnell, a 49-year-old mother of four.

O'Donnell launched her career as a stand-up comedian but eventually took on the big screen. After she adopted her son Parker in 1995, she sought stability in The Rosie O'Donnell Show, which went on to beat Oprah Winfrey in the Emmy's race for five years.

In 2002, O'Donnell dumped her hit show, publicly revealed she was a lesbian, and became a stay-at-home mom with then-partner Kelli Carpenter.

In 2006, O'Donnell returned to daytime TV on ABC's The View, and spiced things up with her on-air feuds with Kelly Ripa, Donald Trump, and Bill O'Reilly. But after an on-air blow-up with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck, O'Donnell left the show before her contract expired.

Still moving on from her relationship with longtime partner Carpenter, O'Donnell relocated to Chicago, where Oprah Winfrey passed the talk-show baton to the mouthy star in 2011.
