国内英语新闻:Chinese state councilor meets Thai foreign official
BEIJING, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi on Friday met with Sihasak Phuangketkeow, permanent secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
Yang said China is willing to work with Thailand to push forward a bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership and relations between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
China hopes Thailand will achieve political stability and economic development at an early date, Yang said, adding that China also hopes the Thai people will live and work in peace and contentment.
Sihasak Phuangketkeow, who attended the second China-Thailand Strategic Dialogue earlier in the day, said Thailand attaches great importance to its friendship with China and will further deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields as well as promote ASEAN-China ties.
No matter how the Thailand situation changes, the Thailand-China friendship will not be affected, he said.
