TEHRAN, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- China snatched a 1-1 draw against Syria in the Group D match of the AFC U-16 2012 Championship here on Sunday.

The Chinese soccer team failed to maintain its perfect start as it received a goal from Syria in the last minute of the match.

In another game of Group D, Uzbekistan recorded a 3-2 victory over India.

In other matches held in the Death Group of C on Sunday, Saudi Arabia was defeated by Japan 2-0 and DPR Korea suffered a 3-0 loss to the South Korean team.

The AFC U-16 2012 Championship finals opened here on Saturday.

The host Iran bagged a 3-1 victory over the Laos in the Group A opener on Saturday.
