体坛英语新闻：Chinese weightlifters shine in Asian Cup Championship

ULAN BATOR, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese weightlifters grabbed nine gold medals on the first day of the 2012 Asian Cup and Inter Club Weightlifting Championship here on Monday.

The Chinese weightlifting team sent four athletes to compete for medals in the women's 48kg, 53kg and 58kg categories.

The results turned out to be very exciting as China's Huang Yuezhen, Zhang Wanqiong and Li Yanyan won made a clean sweep of the snatch, jerk and total of women's 48kg, 53kg and 58kg divisions. In addition, China's Zhang Xueping gained the three silvers in women's 53kg category.

Mongolia's Otgontuya Gongor and Otgonjargal Adiyakhuu took home the silver and bronze medals of women's 58kg category for the host and the bronze of 53kg was also obtained by a Mongolian lifter.

Chinese lifters will compete for medals in 56kg, 62kg, 69kg, 77kg, 94kg, over 105kg categories for men and 69kg and 75kg categories for women on Oct. 9.
