体坛英语新闻：Ottesen Gray wins gold in women's 50m butterfly

BARCELONA, (Spain) Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Jeanette Ottesen Gray of Denmark won the gold medal in the women's 50 meter butterfly in the world swimming championship in Barcelona on Saturday night.

Ottesen Gray, who had been fastest in qualifying and had the fastest time of the year, finished ahead of China' Lu Ying in 25.24 seconds. Lu Ying produced a strong finish to the race and swam her personal best time of 25.42, a good improvement on the 25.82, which had been her previous best and especially impressive as she had reached the final with the slowest time of the eight finalists.

Ranomi Kromowidjojo of the Netherlands earned her second medal of the meet as she finished third in 25.53 to take bronze.
