体坛英语新闻：USA midfielder Feilhaber wants return to native Brazil

SAO PAULO, Jan, 18 (Xinhua) -- United States midfielder Benny Feilhaber has revealed his desire to one day play for Botafogo in Brazil's top flight.

The Brazilian-born 28-year-old, currently in Sao Paulo for a training camp with the US national squad, said he felt an inextricable link to the Rio de Janeiro club.

"I' m Botafoguense. My dad's Botafoguense. I was born Botafoguense and have always wanted the opportunity to play in Brazil," Feilhaber said.

"I haven' t had this chance yet but let' s see what happens in the future. I would seriously consider it."

He said he had been quizzed by teammates about Brazilian culture before the Brazil camp, which coach Jurgen Klinsmann hopes will help prepare his squad for the World Cup in June and July.

"The first thing they asked was about the food, what they should eat and what they should experiment with," Feilhaber said.

"It' s cool to be able to tell them all about the things I used to eat when I was little, like rice and beans, meat and passion fruit juice."
