体坛英语新闻:Monaco reportedly loan Falcao to United
PARIS, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Last season's Ligue 1 runenrs-up Monaco has reportedly agreed with English Premierships' Manchester United to loan striker Radamel Falcao for one year, according to French and England media on Monday.
The 28-year-old Columbian, who has been linked with a move away all summer and been offered to Premier League trio Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United in the last 48 hours, was sighted to have left Monaco by private jet for England to go medical and finish personal terms with the United.
It was said that Louis van Gaal's club will sign the loan deal on around 6 million pounds, in addition to a 7 million pounds wage for a year and keeping an option to make the move permanent next summer with a fee of around 45 million pounds.
The Dutch manager's start to life at Old Trafford has been disastrous, leading a 7th-finish side to just two points after three rounds of the new season, as well as a humiliating 4-0 Capital One Cup defeat to MK Dons. [ Falcao, who missed this summer's World Cup after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury in January, had scored 11 goals in 19 appearances last season.
If it works, the Old Trafford outfit can boast a front line including Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Angel Di Maria and Falcao, despite their defensive options have been the clear weakest for many years.
