体坛英语新闻:Atletico ambush Real Madrid once again at the Bernabeu

2014-09-14来源:Xinhuanet

MADRID, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Atletico Madrid beat Real Madrid 2- 1 in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium to throw Carlo Ancelotti's side into crisis.

Goals from Tiago Cardoso and Arda Turan gave Atletico their second league win in the Bernabeu in two seasons to leave Real Madrid with just three points and two defeats from their first three matches of the season.

Perhaps just as worrying for Ancelotti is that his side committed the same errors that have cost them dearly this season, looking weak in defense and unbalanced on the ball.

Atletico quickly exposed Real Madrid's failings in defensing set pieces when Tiago was left totally unmarked at the near post to flick home Koke's corner after 10 minutes and Real Madrid were struggling again from a corner minutes later until the ball was scrambled clear.

Nevertheless things were not going entirely to plan for Atletico as their strikers Raul Jimenez and Mario Mandzukic failed to combine effectively in attack and their lack of pace meant Atletico were unable to hurt their neighbors on the break.

Cristiano Ronaldo got Real Madrid back into the match from the penalty spot after drawing contact from Guillerme Siquiera after 25 minutes and from then until halftime it looked as if he would inspire his side to win the game.

The second half lacked attacking intensity from Real Madrid and Atletico took the points when Juanfran's low cross was dummied by Raul Garcia for Turam to steer the ball into the left hand corner of the Real Madrid goal. Ronaldo worked hard, for the remaining 15 minutes, but although his side got the ball into the Atletico area, chances were few and far between and Atletico could have extended their lead when Antoine Griezmann hit the side netting on the break.

Earlier in the day, Neymar came off the bench to give Barcelona a 2-0 win at home to Athletic Club Bilbao.

Barca had wasted several chances before the Brazilian accepted a pass from Leo Messi to open the scoring with around 11 minutes remaining and he doubled the lead after another Messi pass five minutes later.

Meanwhile Malaga spurned a host of chances in their 0-0 at home to Levante.
