MADRID, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Leo Messi scored his 400th professional goal and Neymar scored a hat-trick as FC Barcelona had an easy 6-0 win at home to Granada.

A tight opening to the game was broken when Neymar latched onto a wayward backpass to score with a shot which Granada keeper Roberto got a hand to, but couldn't stop from bouncing into the net.

Ivan Rakitic made it 2-0 three minutes from halftime and the game was over as a contest just before the break when Neymar netted his second of the game.

Messi made it 4-0 with his the 400th goal of his career just after the hour, a remarkable figure for a player who is still just 27 years old and he and Neymar rounded off the scoring with a further goal each to take Barca back to the top of the table.

Real Madrid won 2-0 in Villarreal with goals from Luka Modric and Crisitano Ronaldo, but the game could have had a different result if the home side had taken advantage of the hatful of chances they created during the game.

Atletico Madrid were tipped to suffer at home to an in-form Sevilla, who had travelled to the Vicente Calderon third in the table, but Diego Simione's side enjoyed a comfortable 4-0 win thanks to goals from Koke, Saul Ninez a Raul Garcia penalty and Raul Jimenez's first goal for the club.

The win coincided with Simeone's return to the dugout after suspension and should go a long way to end doubts after an irregular start to the campaign.

Leo Baptistao netted his third and fourth goals of the week as Rayo Vallecano won 2-0 away to Levante, while Athletic Club Bilbao huffed and puffed, but were unable to break down a rock solid Eibar defence in a 0-0 draw in San Mames.
