体坛英语新闻:Murray set to end 15-month title drought in Shenzhen
SHENZHEN, China, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Only one step left to climb for the 27-year-old Andy Murray to end his 15-month title drought.
Andy Murray came back to overcome Juan Monaco 2-6, 6-3, 6-0 here on Saturday, reaching the final clash with Tommy Robredo in Shenzhen Open.
From 3-3 in the second set, the second seed of the inaugural tournament reeled off nine straight games to beat Monaco in one hour and 42 minutes.
"He started the match well, I was struggling a little bit with my timing. Obviously, the conditions were very hard today. But I feel good and I'm into my first final for a while." Murray said.
It has been one year and three month since Murray claimed the Wimbledon Championship in July 2013. This final, may become among the special ones in the 27-year-old career.
"I'll try tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be a good match. Robredo's been playing some good tennis this year, so it'll be tough. I'm enjoying myself here and winning always helps," Murray said.
Robredo, meanwhile, is also pursuing his first title since July 2013. The Spaniard dismissed Colombian Santiago Giraldo 6-1, 6-4 in 70 minutes.
