MADRID, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Real Sociedad coach David Moyes is looking forward to enjoying a productive relationship between the Spanish BBVA Primera Liga club and its Chinese sponsors Qbao.

The club, which is based in the city of San Sebastian and Qbao agreed to extend their current sponsorship deal for a further 3 seasons just a month ago and Moyes said in an exclusive interview with Xinhua that he was delighted with the stability the agreement would bring.

"When you have good sponsors and the club knows they have someone there to help and support them, I think it can work for both parties," he said.

The Scot explained that it was not a new experience for him and he was impressed with his previous experience working with Chinese people.

"I was very fortunate to have Li Tie and Li Weifeng, who were Chinese players under me at Everton when I was a manager there and they were great boys and a really joy working with them," he said.

Li Tie may have had his playing career curtailed by injury, but perhaps he learned a lot from Moyes during his time at Everton and he is now the assistant coach of the Chinese national team, while Li Weifeng went on to make 112 appearances for China and is still playing, so perhaps Moyes' positive outlook is no surprise.

"I'm looking forward to working with the Chinese sponsors (Qbao) and meeting up with them in the months and seasons to come."

"Let's hope we can have fruitful period together... We're looking to try and improve and build the team, at the moment we're not quite at that level, but I'm hoping to try and work towards that," he said.

The former Preston, Everton and Manchester United boss signed for Real Sociedad in November 2014 with the club flirting with the relegation zone and his time in charge has lifted them well clear of danger, although April's results have ended their chances of qualifying for Europe for the third year in succession.

With the right signings over the summer Real Sociedad should be in a position to challenge for the top--six next season and despite a difficult landing in San Sebastian, Moyes is happy with his new club.

"I've certainly not been disappointed by the region, or the people, or the support: it's been very good," he said, explaining that he had already had experience of the club after facing them in the Champions League, while Manchester United coach last season.

"I found that they were one of the top teams in Spain and to qualify for the Champions League in Spain is something special, because the teams at the top of the league are very good," explained Moyes.
