体坛英语新闻:DeRozan scores 38 to lead Raptors past Heat in OT
TORONTO, March 12 (Xinhua) -- DeMar DeRozan tied his season-high of 38 points to lead Toronto Raptors past Miami Heat 112-104 in overtime on Saturday.
The two-time All-Star also had 10 rebounds and seven assists, nearly to have his first career triple-double.
"He came down and did a man's job on both ends of the floor," said Raptors head coach Dwane Casey, who has been coaching DeRozan for the past five seasons. "He gave us one of his most solid performances since I've been here."
This is the 14th time DeRozan has scored 30 or more points in a game this season and fourth time in the last six games, during which DeRozan has averaged 30.2 points per game.
"I have no clue," responded DeRozan when asked about his recent surge. "I don't think about what I've done previously. I go up there and play and try to do something better every single night."
In his 17th season in NBA, DeRozan has been improving his performance each year.
The Los Angeles native is currently in his career peak with 23.8 points per game, which is second highest in the Eastern Conference, trailing the 24.9 points by Cleveland's LeBron James with 18 games remaining the season as the Raports have recorded 44 wins and 20 losses.
