体坛英语新闻:PSG defend French Ligue 1 championship in record time
PARIS, March 13 (Xinhua) -- With four goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paris Saint-Germain handed bottem side Troyes a 9-0 home rout on Sunday to claim their fourth French Ligue 1 championship in a row.
The victory opened up a 25-point gap between the capital outfit and second-placed Monaco with eight rounds of the season remaining, enruring Laurent Blanc's side a sixth French title in the club's 46 years history.
Just four days after making UEFA Champions League quarterfinals with a 2-1 away win at Chelsea to complete a 4-2 aggregate victory, Les Parisiens made light work of Troyes in the 30th Ligue 1 away match.
Edinson Cavani opened the scoring for the visiting side in the 13th minute, before Javier Pastore and Adrien Rabiot completed a devastating first half for PSG.
The interval did little to impede Blanc's men to flow as the opending 10 minutes of the second half saw Ibrahimovic net a hat trick before an own goal from Matthieu Saunier made it 7-0 on 59 minutes.
Just a quarter later, Loosemy Karaboue's sending off gave away a penalty, which Cavani missed but tucked home the rebound.
And there's not yet the finish for Ibrahimovic, as the Swede added his fourth of the game with a left-foot shot from inside the area, to claim his 101st Ligue 1 goal since he joined PSG from AC Milan in 2012.
With the win in Troyes, PSG came out the earliest side to ever be crowned domestic champions in one of Europe's top five soccer leagues.
Germany's Bayern Munich secured the 2014-2015 Bundesliga title after 27 matches on March 25, but they were champions with just seven rounds remaining since Ligue 1 has two more teams than its German counterpart.
