国际英语新闻:Hamas shows scenes of launching rockets from Gaza into Israel
GAZA, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Islamic Hamas movement's armed wing al-Qassam Brigades released on Monday video scenes showing its militants launching barrages of rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israel.
The group said in a video on its website that the rockets were fired into southern and central Israel, targeting the cities of Ashkelon, Ashdod and Beer Sheba.
"Al-Qassam Brigades managed to avoid the interception of so-called Israeli Iron Dome by using the tactic of launching dozens of projectiles at once," the group said in the video.
The group added that "the high intensity of fire and the destructive ability of the rockets that al-Qassam fired on the battle line succeeded in causing great losses and damage to the enemy."
Earlier on Monday, Israel announced that on Saturday and Sunday, around 700 rockets and projectiles were launched from the Gaza Strip into Israel, where four Israeli citizens were killed.
Egypt, Qatar and the United Nations succeeded in mediating a truce between Israel and Gaza militant groups, which included the armed wings of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, ending two days of military escalation between the two sides.
Meanwhile, Hamas slammed the UN's position concerning the Israeli aerial strikes on the Gaza Strip in the last couple days, where 27 Palestinians, including pregnant women and children had been killed, Gaza medics said.
"Hamas expresses its shock after the UN officials neglected the Israeli crimes against Palestinian civilians, mainly killing women and their infants as well as destroying 130 houses and civil constructions," Hamas said in a press statement.
