国际英语新闻:"Air India" to provide low-fat meals to its crew
NEW DELHI, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- India's official carrier "Air India" has decided to launch special low-fat meals for its crew members with effect from midnight of Sunday in an attempt to make them more health conscious, an airline official confirmed.
The initiative to revise the in-flight food menu for the crew was taken after considering the "health factor" of the crew members.
The low-fat diet meal for the crew will be devised on day-wise basis, in order to provide light and healthy meals for the staff members along with a homely feeling.
The "India Today" quoted a top "Air India" official as saying that new changes in the in-flight menu for the crew members would come into effect from September 15 midnight on all domestic and international flights.
The same changes will be applicable for all flying crew members like the cockpit and cabin crew.
For many years "Air India" has hit headlines for incurring huge losses. In 2018-19 the airline incurred losses of around 7,600 crore Indian Rupees (approximately one billion U.S. dollars). By the end of last fiscal year, it had a total debt burden of around 58,300 crore Indian Rupees (approximately 8.3 billion U.S. dollars).
