CBA全明星造访民工子弟学校

Basketball this is the CBA all-star weekend here in Beijing. Some of the biggest names on China's basketball scene arrived at a special school in the capital, and left the students wearing smiles.

A school for the children of migrant workers here in northeastern Beijing the site for a special visit from players who will be taking part in the CBA all-star game.

Upon entering the school, the players were greeted to a heroes welcome.

The school offers free public education through the "Hope Project" of the Chinese Adolescence Development Foundation for eligible students who are between 16 and 22 years old and come from poor families below regional poverty standards.

The students performed songs for the visitors and were thrilled to talk to their favorite players in an interaction session.

The students and athletes exchanged gifts.

Wang Zhizhi, CBA All-Star, said, "Special feeling? It's that these kids are really pure and simple and really cute. And their questions were very direct."

Li Xuelin, CBA All-Star, said, "I myself come from a similar background, so I probably understand more of the kids' experience. Now that we have are insociety and able to do this, helping these kids is what we should do."

The basketballers also joined the students in making dim sum. The students of the school, embracing their opportunity to become teachers and under the watchful eyes of the kids the all-stars became the pupils.

Mengke Batter, CBA All-Star, said, "Maybe the flavor tastes all right, but, cooking it out, the feeling has been different, and so eating it inwards feels different too."

After their busy morning the CBA all-stars headed back to their hotel rooms to prepare for the rest of their all-star weekend.
