地震导致日本4月汽车销售额下跌

Japan's new vehicle sales in April halved, sinking to the lowest monthly tally on record. Sales of cars excluding 660cc microcars in Japan fell 51 percent from the year before, with market leader Toyota putting in the worst performance with a 69 percent drop.

Analysts say that's because domestic auto makers felt the full brunt of the March 11th earthquake, which caused uNPRecedented disruption to car production. General manager at the Japan Automobile Dealers Association says it can't say the number has hit bottom, as many auto makers are producing at only 50 percent of initial plans. He predicts the sales will likely continue to drop from the year before, for the rest of 2011.
