车多污染大 中国优先发展清洁能源

Cleaner fuels and a better environment - The call for sustainable energy is getting louder at the China Clean Fuels Summit, with the country expected to invest more in the industry.
更清洁的燃料和更好的环境——在中国清洁能源峰会上，可持续能源的呼吁声更加响亮，预计国家将加大对产业的投入力度。

Vehicle pollution is one of the main reasons for smog and haze in most large and medium-sized cities in the country. Maybe it is not surprising now that the nation drives 95 million cars, second only to the United States with 240 million.
在中国很多大中城市，汽车污染是烟雾和阴霾的主要诱因。可能这并不令人惊讶，因为中国汽车保有量是9500万辆，仅次于美国的2.4亿辆。

Michael P. Walsh, President of ICCT Board of Directors, said, "If the vehicle technology combines with clean fuels, if China adapts clean fuels and also adapts very tight vehicle emission standards, the pollution levels can continue to be reduced."
国际清洁交通委员会董事会主席Michael P. Walsh表示：“如果把汽车工业技术和清洁燃料相结合，如果中国适应清洁燃料并且适应非常严格的汽车排放标准，污染水平可能继续降低。”

China began to implement new standards of vehicle emission earlier this year. But because new fuels have not yet reached the market, the timetable has been delayed. The strong demand for cleaner fuels is raising pressure on the industry.
今年早些时候，中国就开始执行新的汽车排放标准。但是因为新的燃料还没有进入市场，执行时间表被推迟了。更加清洁的燃料的强烈要求增加了该行业的压力。

Cao Xianghong, adviser of Sinopec Group, said, "We increase production of oil products by an average of 15 million tons every year. We should accelerate the pace of producing cleaner oil products. Promoting the technology is an important issue. This is a really tough and systematic project for some of our oil companies."

Clean energy has grown from a niche industry to a significant source of business, investment and manufacturing. During the 2011 China Clean Fuels Summit, participants called for more cooperation in research and technology transfers between developed and developing countries.
清洁能源已经从一个新兴产业成长为商业、投资和制造业的一个重要来源。在2011年中国清洁能源峰会上，与会者呼吁加大发达国家和发展中国家在研究和技术转让方面的合作。

China has been surging ahead with clean energy on the understanding that investment in this sector will lead to sound economic development. But the urgent need for clean fuel also demands much more rational policies and newer technology.
中国正在不断推进清洁能源的发展，因为投资这一领域能促进经济的健康发展。但是清洁能源的迫切需要也要求有更多合理的政策、更新的技术。
