中国东北的粮食生产供应

The three provinces of Heilongjiang, Liaoning and Jilin in Northeast China form a major grain production area. Each year they produce over a million tons of wheat, corn and rice. Local demand is limited, so most of the surplus is sent south. The winter holiday season is the busiest transport period.
中国东北三省,黑龙江省、辽宁省和吉林省形成了一个主要的粮食产区。每年,它们生产100多万吨的小麦、玉米和稻谷。当地需求有限,所以大部门剩余粮食就被送往南方。冬季假期是最繁忙的运送期。

Each year, hundreds of thousands of tons of grain is transported across the country from Northeast China. First by rail to the ports of Yingkou, Dalian and Dandong, then south by ship to Shanghai, Ningbo and Shenzhen.
每年,几十万吨粮食从中国东北部运往全国各地。首先是通过铁路运往营口、大连和丹东的港口,然后用船运往上海、宁波和深圳。

With orders from all over, local farm produce companies say rail capacity is hard-pressed to meet demand.

Ji Wenjun, manager of Kiamusze Yihai Cereal & Oil Company said: "We receive our orders according to our production capacity. But transportation is a headache."

Local authorities are working to ease the bottleneck.

A nonstop express train loaded with grain has started operation in Kiamusze. It carries thousands of tons of grain that will reach major cities.
一列装满粮食的直达快速列车开始在佳木斯运营。它运送数千吨粮食到主要城市。

Hao Kuilin, chief of Kiamusze Industry & Information Technology Commerce said: "This special line can help relieve the heavy stockpile of over ten grain companies. If the express can operate on a regular basis, the transport strain in Kiamusze can be greatly eased."
佳木斯工业信息技术贸易部主任郝奎霖表示:“这条特殊的线可以帮助缓解10多家粮食公司严重的粮食积压。如果快车能在常规基础上运行,佳木斯的运输压力可以大大减轻。”

Liu Hongpeng with Harbin Railway Bureau said: "We have implemented four favorable policies for large grain enterprises. The number of carriages has been increased to 15 hundred every day. Before it was about 9 hundred."

Loaders are braving minus-30 degree Celsius temperatures at the terminals.

In just two hours, they’ve packed seven hundred bags of rice. And the winter chill can’t freeze their enthusiasm.

Loader Wang said: "We’ve tied these bags up several times. Experience tells us this will prevent them from popping out."

Besides the railway system, major ports in the region have also increased their transport capacity. A special "Grain Transit system" has been in use since the end of last year.
