Hong Kong has the reputation of being a shopper's paradise.

Shopping is arguably Hong Kong’s Number One Pastime. Visitors find it’s all too easy to get swept away by the latest fashion tide.

Many head to the pleasures of Tsim Sha Tsui. Harbor City is the biggest mall in Hong Kong. Another popular option is Causeway Bay. From department stores, to small boutiques and bargain stalls, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

Peter C. W. Leung, managing director of Halewinner Group, said, “Hong Kong’s low-tax mechanism has given our business a lot of benefits. Although the European debt crisis and gloomy US economy has put some pressure on us, but the consumption power from Chinese mainland still remain strong.”

Shopping is woven into the fabric of the city. Whether you participate in it as social activity or a serious sport, it’s a time-honored tradition that’s part of the culture and a way of life.
