迪拜国际电影节揭开序幕

The 9th Dubai International Film Festival opened on Sunday, with 158 movies from over 60 countries in 43 languages are set to hit the big screen during the 8-day event. Among them, 52 movies will make their debut at the festival.
The opening film "Life of Pi" was directed by academy award-winning, Chinese-American director Ang Lee. The 3D multi-dimensional film features an Indian boy who survives a natural disaster on a boat together with a Bengal tiger.
According to the chairman of the festival, film productions increased by 8 percent from 2011, adding that the emirate aims to grab a growing share of the global film industry which is valued at over 600 billion US dollars.
