北京咖啡馆的末日游戏
Here in Beijing, people have been having some fun with the end of the world story. Customers in a coffee shop have been given tickets for the Ark to escape doom.
The holder of this ticket is supposed to board the Arc in Tibet at 12 o’clock on the 21 of December.
Du Jianing, coffee shop customer, said, "This is quite interesting. Everybody is talking about the end of the world, and coffee shop staff must think it is a funny thing to do. This is just funny, and I don’t think people will take it seriously."
The ticket was designed by the coffee shop staff. It looks like a boarding pass, with a picture borrowed from the Hollywood movie "2012" on the front. With the movie being replayed in cinema, many have found the doomsday concept a good strategy to boost business.
Sun Yu, coffee shop owner, said, "Everybody is talking about the 2012 issue, and we think this is good fun. We hope we can make use of this to interact with our customers. We’re just trying to bring some laughter to people. We don’t have to take it seriously."
Sun and his staff have made about 200 tickets for their customers. He said the tickets will be taken out of circulation when the shop closes for the night on December 21.
