国际专家帮助中国调查H7N9病毒
The World Health Organization says an international team of experts will fly to China this week to help with investigations into the deadly H7N9 virus. The announcement came Tuesday while the country reported 14 new cases of bird flu.
The new cases have been reported in China’s eastern coastal region, including six in Shanghai, five in Zhejiang province and three in |Jiangsu province. It brings the total number of cases across the country to 77. The expert team will include four specialists in the fields of emerging viruses, human-to-animal flu viruses and epidemiology.
An unknown number of WHO staff will be among the team. One of the targets of the investigation will be to discover how some people seem to fight off the infection while others are unable to. So far 16 people infected with the virus have died and two have made a full recovery.
