英国首相赞扬撒切尔夫人

British Prime Minister David Cameron has paid tribute to late leader Margaret Thatcher on the day of her funeral. He gave a reading from the Gospel of St John. Mr Cameron said the funeral is a "fitting tribute" to a major national figure.

British Prime Minister David Cameron said, "I’m an enormous fan of Margaret Thatcher and what she achieved. I think the remarkable part of her legacy is how widely it is now accepted. No one wants to go back to the days of industrial relations anarchy or mass nationalisations or weak defences. She gave the country a new consensus to unite behind.

"I believe today is going to be a fitting tribute to a truly great leader. I think the thing about Margaret Thatcher is she was there when our country needed her most."
