中国发布第17个高温警报

High temperatures continue to rain misery across China. China’s Central Meteorological Station has been forced to issue the 17th straight orange heat alert.

According to the forecast, the average temperature is set to exceed 35 degrees Celsius in most parts of South China. In most of the cities in the South and East, the temperature could reach as high as 40 to 41 degrees Celsius. On Friday, half of China’s provincial capitals experienced temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius.

The monitoring data showed that east China’s Zhejiang Province recorded some of the hottest temperatures in the country. Ten cities and counties of Zhejiang were on the list of the places with the highest temperatures in the country. The highest recorded temperature was above 43 degrees Celsius. The prolonged heatwave has affected 27 thousand hectares of tea gardens in the tea renowned province. Experts say the hot weather in Southern China may ease from next Monday.
