印度曼莫汉·辛格辞职 在位10年

Indian PM Manmohan Singh formally resigned on Saturday after a decade in power. It comes a day after his ruling Congress party was heavily defeated by the BJP, in India’s general election.

Singh, along with all his ministers, offered his resignation to Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, following his last Cabinet meeting. He’ll remain as caretaker prime minister till Narendra Modi is sworn in next week.

Earlier in the day, the 81-year-old addressed the nation for the last time as Prime Minister. He urged people to respect the judgment delivered at the ballot box, and wished the incoming government "success." In the televised address, Singh also hit back at his critics who targeted him over corruption scams and India’s recent economic slide.
