北京24小时降雨量刷新纪录
Beijing, China’s capital city, has witnessed record rainfall in the past 24 hours. The rains lasted from Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning.
Around 8 p.m., the rains were intensified and moved from the suburbs to the city proper. 25 millimetres of rain were recorded within six hours.
The rainfall came to a stop at five a.m. on Wednesday. Data released by the Beijing weather bureau shows the precipitation hit 32 millimetres for the whole city.
The highest record was made at Yan-qi Lake in Huai-rou District, at nearly 120 millimetres of rain. It has been the first torrential rains for neighbouring Mi-yun District. The weather department has predicted cloudy weather for Wednesday with a possibility of showers.
