电影观众享受全新4D视觉体验

3D films have become commonplace for moviegoers around the world, but the first two 4D theatres recently opened in California. The company behind the latest in movie technology, the CJ Group, operates Asia’s largest theater chain.

4D is already available in South America, Europe and Asia, and developers hope the entry into the US market will make 4D technology the wave of the future.

It seemed fitting that the blockbuster movie Transformers: Age of Extinction in 4-D was the feature film at this Los Angeles theatre because the Korean company behind the technology is betting that 4D will transform the film industry.

As North America movie attendance continues to decline some 21 percent since 2002 according to the Motion Picture Association of America today’s cinema operators hope to attract more movie-goers by entering the 4th dimension.

"4DX immersive cinematic experience presents the future of the movie industry."

Though 4D technology is available in about two dozen countries, the first two U-S 4D theaters recently debuted in the Los Angeles area.

4D combines 3D technology with motion and atmospheric effects like wind, fog, rain, lightning and even odors.

"It’s an experience that our customers enjoy very much. When you were driving, you were in the seat of the car driving. It was amazing, almost like a roller coaster." Julia Mojarro, 4D Movie-goer said.

Two years ago Universal Studios Theme Park introduced Transformers 3D the rollercoaster ride and CCTV-America was there

But this time, the rollercoaster ride has come to a theater near me with Transformers Age of Extinction 4D, that 3-minute ride - now nearly 3 hours. So I’ve got my 3D glasses and I’m ready for the 4D experience.

"What could it possibly do that would make it worth $27 that I couldn’t do in my own home I could ask my wife to shake the couch for me while I’m sitting there and it would be a much more enjoyable experience for me."

But some U-S theater owners are betting that the experience trumps the expense .. and hoping that if it does U-S audiences will dominate the 4D moviegoing market.
