皇马宣布签J罗六年 转会费8000万欧
The reigning European champions have bolstered their line-up in a bid to repeat. Real Madrid have officially signed Colombian international James Rodriguez -- and was shown off at Bernabeau. The forward comes over from Monaco on a transfer in the neighbourhood of 80-million euros.
Rodriguez has signed a six-year contract with the Spanish club and held up the number 10 shirt, which he will wear. The Colombian was also joined at the press conference with his wife. Rodriguez came into the spotlight during the World Cup, where he was the tournament's top scorer with six goals. And his announcment caused a little bit of a flare-up at the team's stadium, as one fan was a little overzealous and tried to make his way onto the pitch. The new signing is seen as part of a formidable attacking line-up which includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema. He is the Champions League holders second signing of the summer, following Germany international midfielder Toni Kroos, who joined from Bayern Munich.
"I have wanted this forever, and I think this is not the end of it. I still dream of winning lots of things here and I dream of being here forever. For many years at least, because this club is a winner and I am a winner. There is always pressure at a big club like this. They always wants to win, especially the Champions League. There is always pressure and I have to learn how to live with it. I am ready for all this. I hope this happy dream has a happy ending," Rodriguez said.
