北京举行义卖活动 帮助患病儿童
The sixth 'Love Knows No Borders' International Charity Sale has been held in Beijing's Chaoyang Park. This movement aims to aid sick children in rural areas. The event is being hosted by Qian Wei, the wife of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Selling and buying artifacts and food with distinctive features from all over the world. This is not an ordinary fair, but an annual international charity sale. Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, and his wife also attended the event to encourage global awareness of public welfare and poverty alleviation.
"All the money raised will go towards surgeries for children with congenital heart diseases in Guizhou Province. This movement will give them the chance to recover and change the destiny of their families," Qian said.
The couple viewed many stalls. While walking around the set-up by Guizhou Province, they bought a box of tea and made generous donations.
Representatives from foreign embassies and the offices of international organizations in Beijing, as well as companies from both home and abroad, actively participated in the event.
"It’s impressive. And there are so many countries all gathering in favor of aiding poor kids with the disease. And for us being here at the Danish Embassy, we hope we can join and raise a lot of money that can benefit these kids,” Rasmus Julius Hansen with Intern At Danish Embassy said.
"I think this year, it’s very significant, because of the importance that is attached to assisting the children in disadvantaged, mountainous areas. We think it’s a very good thing to do.We welcome the initiative by the wife of the foreign minister to come up with this idea," Meshack Kitchen, minister-counsellor with Embassy Of The Republic Of Zimbabwe, said.
"I think it’s a very good project. And I think it’s better to make it not just one year, but to make it twice a year, or three times a year, because it’s really a great thing," Natalia Yakovleva with embassy of The Russian Federation said.
"The charity sale has branded itself as an event for cultural display with people-to-people exchanges. And more importantly, with the love and care of people from home and abroad, the donations will go towards those most in need and will keep hope alive.
