沪港通下周启动

The Shanghai Hong Kong Stock Connect is on track for opening on November 17th. The China and Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commissions made the joint announcement Monday morning.

The Stock Connect is a direct mutual market access platform between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong. It allows for hundreds of Hong Kong-listed companies to be traded in Shanghai and vice versa. Trading will be subject to limits with volumes capped, and on the mainland, investors will need a sizable 500,000 yuan, which is around 80,000 US dollars in cash and liquid securities to participate.
